It’s not what you think

The First Ten Words by Rich Larson

Chris Cornell, 1964-2017

Chris Cornell died early Thursday morning. His band Soundgarden played a show on Wednesday night at the Fox Theater in Detroit. Two hours after the show ended, he was gone.

For two days, I’ve been working on a piece to pay tribute to him, and it’s been a struggle. Usually when I have a problem like this it’s because I’m staring at a blank screen trying to figure out what I want to say. That’s not the problem this time. The problem is I have way too much to say.

I’m not going to sit here and claim to have been a huge fan of Soundgarden. I didn’t dislike them, I just had to take them in small doses. I was a fan of Cornell. I love “Seasons,” the solo song he had on Cameron Crowe’s movie, Singles. It’s a droning acoustic song about isolation and the…

My March entry. 💓

Disability March

15941117_10154434042848422_4937824260084844677_n Tiffany has long dark hair swept over one shoulder and wears dark glasses and a bright green tank top. She smiles at the camera.

I’m a disabled Army Veteran with PTSD, depression, anxiety, extreme stress, sleeping disorders, spinal/back/neck issues, muscle tension throughout my body, migraines, sciatica, and I cannot be on my feet more than thirty minutes without pain. I’m a mother of three, wife of a diabetic amputee with heart and kidney failure (on dialysis, awaiting kidney transplant), and caring for my elderly in-laws both with dementia/Alzheimer’s in our home.

I cannot physically be there, so I’m Virtually Marching For Women because our lives and health needs matter!! Frankly, this new Cabinet coming into Office scares me!!

Are You An Earth Sensitive? and Why You Need to Know

I am most definitely an Earth Sensitive, as well as Empath, and Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), each to varying degrees…it can be so stressful for me at times, taking on the energies from outside of myself. It’s no wonder I retreat MUCH of the time lately! As I’m strengthening my self during this ahhh-mazing spiritual awakening with my Higher Self! 😀 ❤

Serene Reflection

6 Elements - Earth Healing Mandala - woven by Sangeeta Bhagwat

It takes only about 5 minutes of news to make the most resilient of us feel exhausted and dismayed.  Current world events, weather disruptions and mishaps seem to be growing in frequency and scale.  While some articles describing the traits of Empaths and Highly Sensitive Personshave been doing the rounds, there is relatively less information available for Earth Sensitives.  For them, the current times can be overwhelming.  Even more so, if you do not even realize what is happening with you and why.

To me, labels have their limitations and I use all these terms more as pointers rather  than rigorous classifications.  My intent here is to provide some practical, useful  checklists for those who may have been seeking such support. I myself fit the descriptions of an Empath, HSP as well as an Earth Sensitive.

Previously, I have shared several Tools For Empaths.  I strongly recommend referring to that…

Author Interview: Michel Vamrell

Flores Factor Blog

Today, Michel Vamrell stops by for a little question and answer session.

RF: Tell us about yourself.

MV: I am an artists, creator, and dreamer.   I love to create things, and dream up things.  I am also a very physical person.  I enjoy hiking, riding bikes, and walking.  I love sports and staying active.  I have a husband that I love and adore.  He and I have two girls.  One is from his first marriage and our youngest is our creation.  I am the youngest of my family, and I have an older brother and an older sister.  I do come from a creative family.  My mother and brother are both artists.  However, my mother stopped drawing in painting in her early thirties.  As for my brother, he still paints today, but as a hobby.  I was raised in Robinson Il.  But, I was not a popular child and couldn’t…
